Eight people have died and 33 other were left critically injured after the buses they were travelling in were involved in an accident along Nimule-Juba Road.
The nasty accident involved two Gateway buses registration number UAU 251S and UAX 716 J which collided at Arapi in Pageri Sub County in South Sudan today morning.
According to the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson Jimmy Patrick Okema, the buses collided as the drivers tried to dodge a pothole.
Both drivers and conductors of the two buses died in the accident. One of the drivers is Richard Ondoga.
By press time, Uganda police had dispatched an ambulance from Gulu to Nimule to help evacuate some of the injured victims.
