Female Chimpanzee and Male pig
The human species began as the hybrid offspring of a male pig and a female chimpanzee, a leading geneticist has suggested. The article, which I got from Daily Mail suggests that human beings could have originated after a female Chimpanzee and a male pig mated.
While humans have many features in common with chimps, we also have a large number of distinguishing characteristics not found in any other primates"said Eugene McCarthy from University of GeorgiaThe article argues that pigs could have given us our characteristic hairless skin, thick layer of substantial fat, light coloured eyes, protruding noses and heavy eye lashes, which are not there in primates.
However, critics argue that this could not have happened because there is little chance of a monkey and a pig to be inter-fertile.
