The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Deputy Managing Director Patrick Ayota has asked youth to embrace technology driven solutions, to address society needs. He said this during the NSSF Career Expo final session at MOTIV, in Kampala on 29th April 2022.
According to him, the youths shouldn’t give up on themselves because they have potential to deliver value this using technology. He asked them to look out online for the NSSF Hi Innovator program by NSSF that provides 8 learning modules on business start-up advice.
“Exploring opportunities for the youth in the new digital era could simply mean discovering one’s passion and using technology to deliver a solution.” Patrick Ayota, Deputy Managing Director NSSF.
Michael Niyitegeka, the head of Program Directory at Refactory said, “anyone in the tech space can either be a user of tech or a tech developer. Ask yourself what is the level of your digital competence and if not, ensure to build it in order to compete favorably in the tech space.”s
The 3-day knowledge sharing NSSF Career Expo has been an interactive, participatory and entertaining experience for all students featuring mixes from Dj Alisha that gave the entire experience a lively touch.
Lucky winners from the quizz sessions also walked away with goodies each of the three days which included a laptop, JBL Speaker and T Shirts.
Ssubi Reagan, a Makerere University student said “the 3 days have been insightful, given me a platform to exhibit my product and a learning ground on how to strategically position my business using technology”.
This has been the 12th NSSF Career Expo and the first expo post the pandemic under the theme, Technopreneurship, the future of work.
