A five-year-old boy had his dreams come true after a video of him, wearing a plastic bag fashioned into a Lionel Messi jersey, went viral.
The clip of Murtaza Ahmadi, who claims to be the Barcelona striker’s biggest fan, caught the eye of Messi’s management, prompting them to reach out to the young football lover.
Ahmadi, who comes from the Jaghori district, in the eastern Ghazni province of Afghanistan, received a priceless memento – an autographed Messi jersey.
“I love Messi and my shirt says Messi loves me,” said an overjoyed Ahmadi.
Messi is a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and the agency helped to get the shirt to the boy, by posting the picture of Murtaza on the organization’s Facebook page.
