City socialite Charles Olimu aka Sipapa and his wife Shamilah Nakiyimba have been remanded to Luzira Prison till 12th December 2022.
The two appeared before the Makindye grade one court Magistrate Esther Adiikini yesterday morning.
Hope Lukundo, representing the state, told the court that they are still carrying out investigations and asked for more time to continue to carry out a thorough investigation.

However, in court, Sipapa represented by his lawyer Godfrey Turyamusiima didn’t object to the prayer made by the state. He is however optimistic that by the time they come back to court on 12th December 2022, the state will be ready with the investigations to see his clients out of prison.
Turyamusima says his clients have instructed him to apply for bail in a higher court and is hopeful that the couple will be released in December.

Due to the Ebola outbreak and the closure of prisons, Shamilah has not yet seen her newborn since the court order.
Sipapa was arrested in September over the alleged robbery of Shs 1.6 billion, gold, phones, and laptops from a South Sudanese national Jacob Arok and his family members.
Sipapa allegedly stole the items from Arok’s home in Kawuku, Bunga, in Makindye Division in Kampala which were recovered from his residence at Kityo Close, Buwate village, in Kira Municipality.
