Musicians have, for many years, demanded that the government amend the copyright law. This was also allegedly one of the reasons for the formation of the Uganda National Musicians Federation.

However, this has not been amended. The artists continue receiving promises from the government to do so.

Now, musician King Saha has threatened to rally artists to march to Parliament over the same law. He explained that this would awaken the government to work towards the amendment.

"I will organize with a few artists who believe in the cause, and we will march to that Parliament and demand for the copyright law," he partly said.

Last year, the Shadow Minister for Arts, Hillary Kiyaga, aka Dr. Hilderman, introduced the amendment bill to Parliament, and he was instructed by the Speaker to go for consultations about the same.
