Allegations have been circulating that the Prime Minister of Buganda Kingdom, Peter Mayiga, stopped CBS FM and BBS Terefayina from hosting NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi, aka Bobi Wine.

These claims have mostly been spread by NUP loyalists on social media.

However, Mayiga has denied the allegations, explaining that he does not influence decisions at CBS Radio and its sister agencies.

He said CBS has both editorial and management boards that are responsible for selecting panelists for different shows.

"That’s not true. I don’t decide who appears on Buganda Kingdom's radio and television stations. The managers choose who to host, depending on the situation at the time. We give these companies independence to operate, and CBS has editorial and management boards that run its operations," he said in an interview with Sanyuka TV's Adam Kungu.

Mayiga added that as the Prime Minister, his role is to encourage management to prioritize Buganda’s issues, matters of development, and youth, while giving equal opportunities to those needing coverage.
