Earlier this month, musician Sheebah Karungi held a successful concert at the Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.
Over time, Sheebah has praised Winnie Nwagi as one of her best performers and friends in the industry.
However, Nwagi didn’t perform at the event, nor did she attend as part of the audience.
The Swangz Avenue singer explained that she was never invited to the concert and wouldn’t have forced herself to perform at an event where she wasn’t welcome.
"To come and perform at someone’s concert, there has to be an understanding between the two artists. Sometimes we’re not in communication, not in touch. So I wouldn’t know if she wanted me to perform at her concert. I wouldn’t just go and bomb the venue, especially if I wasn’t welcome," Nwagi explained in an interview with a local television station.
She believes that artists should always reach out and invite fellow musicians they wish to perform at their concerts as a sign of respect.
