Over the weekend, former Leader of the Opposition Mathias Mpuuga and musician Alien Skin officially launched a coalition.
The two agreed never to attack each other, with Alien Skin tasked with countering the National Unity Platform's influence in Uganda’s ghettos.
The singer was also entrusted with reducing the power of foot soldiers and competing directly with Bobi Wine.
It is alleged that Mpuuga and his group believe Alien Skin has the potential to curtail Bobi Wine’s influence among urban youth and redirect their support to the new coalition.
Notably, Mpuuga and Alien Skin also launched a new political platform, the Democratic Alliance.
