The former Leader of the Opposition, Mathias Mpuuga, and singer Alien Skin launched a coalition last week in Kampala.
During the launch, Mpuuga announced the formation of the Democratic Alliance, a new political platform.
Mpuuga revealed that Alien Skin had reached out to him, urging the Member of Parliament to help improve the lives of ghetto residents.
"Alien Skin reached out to me and said, ‘We are a troubled group.’ I agreed because he represents many young people—talented, scattered, and without leadership—in and around Kampala. He said they wanted to act more formally, and I welcomed the idea. I committed to assisting them," Mpuuga explained in an interview with NBS Morning Breeze today.
Mpuuga believes that, in collaboration with Alien Skin, they can uplift the ghetto community while garnering support for his political ambitions ahead of the 2026 elections.
