Musician-turned-politician Bukeni Ali, popularly known as Nubian Li, is reportedly planning to contest for the position of Nakawa Municipality Mayor in the 2026 general elections.
Nubian Li, a close confidant of Bobi Wine, is said to be gearing up to challenge the incumbent Mayor, Paul Mugambe, and take over the municipality's leadership.
According to fellow artist King Saha, Nubian Li has already communicated his intentions to the leadership of the National Unity Platform (NUP) and is ready to embrace the challenge.
Notably, Nubian Li serves as the head of the arts sector within NUP and is a member of the party's National Executive Committee, giving him significant influence within the organization.
