Former minister Amelia Kyambadde has launched her parliamentary bid to unseat Hillary Kiyaga, commonly known as Dr. Hilderman, from the Parliament of Uganda.

Kyambadde revealed that she will once again contest for the Mawokota North constituency seat in the 2026 elections.

It should be noted that in the 2021 elections, Hilderman defeated Kyambadde. She accepted the loss and congratulated the musician on his victory.

The two have a long history together, as Hilderman was once a favorite in Kyambadde’s household. He even recorded a song praising Amelia Kyambadde during the 2011 elections.

However, Dr. Hilderman is currently not on good terms with his political party, the National Unity Platform (NUP), and its president, Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine. He is widely seen as a rebel working with Mathias Mpuuga, a well-known adversary of NUP.
