As the polls approach next year, different people, including artists and media personalities, have already expressed interest in various positions.
Notably, Eddy Yawe, a brother to NUP President Bobi Wine, has expressed interest in contesting in the Gomba East constituency.
It's the same constituency targeted by former Bukedde Television host Flavia Namulidwa.
The two are battling for the position and have already expressed interest in winning the National Unity Platform party ticket as the country goes to the polls next year.
Reports indicate Eddy Yawe is currently strong on the ground in Gomba, as he has spent almost three years canvassing for grassroots support in the district.
He is a popular face at burial ceremonies and festivities in the district.
On the other hand, allegations show Namulidwa is lacking on the ground, as she went back to America after spending just over two weeks in the constituency. She, however, has cadres across the villages spreading her message.
Sources from her camp, however, reveal she will be coming back to the country officially this weekend to launch her political campaigns.
Gomba East is one of the constituencies to look out for in the NUP primaries, as Yawe is a biological brother to the Party President, and Namulidwa also enjoys a strong bond with Bobi Wine and his wife, Barbie Kyagulanyi.
