Top Uganda Female Rapper Keko made history back in 2012 when she signed a Major International Recording and Management Deal with Sony Music Entertainment Africa, however it would later grow sour as it turned out not to be what she hoped for.
This morning, Keko took to her twitter handle @KEKOTOWN and openly told Sony she was tired and wanted out of their business.
This is her litany of tweets; “I want @SonyMusicAfrica to release me from that contract because I've clearly been unhappy close to 4 years now. Its unfair to the fans more than it is to me. I am not happy at Sony and I need to do what's best for the fans and me which is release music.”
Keko added; “Im sorry all the Kekonian out there but the label isn't releasing songs I recorded for you and it saddens me. All I've ever wanted is to make music for the fans but the label is making it harder for me. I think it's best for the fans i leave Sony.”
Sony Music Africa is yet to respond to her plea, and we shall surely keep you updated on how the release deal goes down.
