After threatening to sue the Hipipo Awards organizers if they only try to ever nominate him in their Awards, the city’s celebrated Kadongo Kamu singer Sir Mathuis Walukagga has once again come out and painted the Awards organizers as fools.
Speaking live at a one Bulange based radio station a few days ago, Walukagga went ahead and said:
“Nze abo nabagamjba dda ebyo babizijjamu manggu ela ne’mbagamba singa tebakikola ndi wa’kubakuba mukotti; kubanga omuntu ategera toyinza kugamba nti omuntu awangudde ‘Song of the Year,’ ate oluvanuuma n’ogamba mbu ate ‘Best artiste of the year’ mulara…. Awo mbandaba nga ebyo ebyekisilu abitalimu magezi,
loosely meaning:
I told those guys to keep me out of their fake staff, vowing to sue them if they ever happen not to do it, because someone with sense cannot put it that someone has won ‘Song of the year’ and later you brand someone else as the ‘Best Artiste of the year!’ there I see it as something senseless. You can’t brand a person as the best artiste of the year when he has not scooped the best Single of the year Award, that’s madness.”
