Police has identified Sarah Neliima a 22 year old, a resident of Kakindu, Kawuku as the latest victim and 23rd woman in the horrific Wakiso district serial murders.
According to Neliima’s friends, the victim retired home at about 9pm, from her work place, Friends Restaurants and Take Away near Mango Sports Bar in Katabi Town Council.
Her body was however found at Nkumba in a banana garden, about 70 metres from the Entebbe-Kampala Road.
AIGP Asan Kasingye, Police Spokesperson, says his boss IGP Kale Kayihura will camp in Katabi to find answers. The IGP had camped in the area last month, but still no answers were found.
In the past three months, 23 women have been murdered in the areas of Nansana and Entebbe, in what government has termed as “ritual murders.”
Yesterday, women under an umbrella body Akina mama wa Africa launched a campaign dubbed #notanotherwoman, meant to put pressure on government and security agencies to provide more security to women in the aforementioned areas, and investigate the murders, so justice can be served.
The women are also organizing a vigil at National Theatre to pray for the deceased ladies. They also want president Museveni to issue a statement in regard to the matter.
