The Makerere University convocation executive under the supervision of university management has today morning started the exercise of issuing provisional admission letters to all admitted undergraduate students 2016/17.
The development follows the decision by the non teaching staff to continue with their sit down strike against government’s failure to pay their salary arrears.
A document seen by our news desk and signed by Deus Muwhezi the publicity secretary of Makerere University convocation indicates that the exercise which commenced this morning at the main building is in favor of students and parents who consider the ivory tower as their first choice.
Makerere University convocation is an association of the old students and staff of Makerere University.
The convocation also makes it clear that their exercise is not in any way meant to undermine the ongoing non-teaching staff strike.
University activities came to a standstill at the start of this week when the non-teaching staff of all public Universities laid down their tools seeking payment of their salary arrears and increment.
