Youth under their umbrella body, Citizen Campaign against Corruption have written to the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga requesting for resignation of all 42 government officials implicated in the infamous 6bn shillings ‘Presidential handshake’.
In a letter seen by Howwe.biz, the youth commend parliament for the work it is doing to unearth the circumstances under which the said officials received the money. Parliament through COSASE started questioning implicated officials this week, with the group from URA appearing before the no nonsense committee first.
The youth argue that resignation of the implicated officials will cause transparent investigations and inquiries as well as avoiding interference with the process, as was with Kiddu Makubuya when he had to reside from office of the Attorney General regarding Basajjabalaba market scandal.
“We implore parliament, through the speaker to give our prayer a positive response” part of the letter read.
