Kyambogo University in chaos apparently because students are pulling off some stunts of a strike against the University for offering courses which are not accredited by the National Council of Higher Education. The Council announced recently made a press release that had 20 out of 90 courses at Kyambogo legit . The rest of the universities may be victims of the same circumstance that includes Makerere University, Bishop Stuart and Uganda Martyrs to mention but a few.
Some of these courses not accredited by the council include Masters of Science in Agriculture, Masters of Science in Animal Production, Master of Science in Food and Technology, PHD in food Technology and many more.
If you dominate people with violence they will definitely fight back, as for the case of Kyambogo Students we managed to interview said they are striking because they have already paid tuition for unaccredited courses, Sanitation is poor, insufficient scholastic materials, etc
Is the strike a best way to convey their problems, what’s your opinion? Will keep you posted
