Comedian Mariachi and singer Maureen Nantume were deported from USA where they were slated to perform last week alongside Salvador Idringi and Alex Muhangi.
They lacked work permits. They had applied for visiting visas. However, when the authorities questioned them, they failed to provide the necessary information and documentation for their stay in USA. They were put back on the plane to Banana republic.
Comedian Salvador has weighed in on the saga.
He says he can not travel abroad for a gig without a work permit.
“I am learned. Whenever I get a gig abroad, I ask for a contract that has all I need first. I am not desperate like the other people. I was supposed to go with those guys but the promoters failed to meet my demands and I refused. That is how I survived deportation," Salvador said.
His comments came at a time when reports are circulating that he is beefing with Alex Muhangi of Comedy Store.
