Teddy Nalubowa aka Tracy Manule Bobiholic, 27, was on September 10 charged with offensive communication after she posted content on her TikTok account celebrating the death of former security minister Gen Elly Tumwine.
The prosecution alleges that on August 23rd, 2022 at Ndeeba Rubaga Division in the Kampala District, Nalubowa willfully and repeatedly used electronic communication on Facebook and TikTok to disturb the Peace or right of privacy of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
She is accused of uttering statements while celebrating the death of the former security minister and linking his death to the president.
“Tumwine, finally you have died but you died a long time and your boss President Museveni will also die, you will die one by one and we shall celebrate”.
She appeared on November 02 before the Buganda Road Magistrates Court presided by Sanula Nambozo where her case was adjourned to 6th December 2022.
Speaking on the sidelines, Nalubowa who kept shielding her face from the cameras stated that this case has traumatized her and that all her friends and family do not want to associate with her for fear of being arrested.
She says her growing social media career has also been affected, despite being out on bail.
The prosecution led by State Attorney Ivan Kyazze said investigations are still ongoing.
Meanwhile, Nalubowa's lawyers led by Shamim Malende, say they are ready to defend their client once investigations are concluded.
