Five months ago, socialite Sipapa was arrested and jailed for allegedly stealing Shs1.6bn from a South Sudanese national.

According to Sipapa’s lawyer, Godfrey Turyamusiima, Sipapa's case count recently increased from 7 to 12 with many of them related to money laundering.
Turyamusiima says many of Sipapa’s possessions like cars, and TVs at home have been seized by the court apparently under the pretext that he acquired the properties with money from the wrong channels.

Turyamusiima wants the properties released back to the family but the court is yet to respond to his request.
