Musician Beenie Gunter, who is not a member of the federation, has been critical of its operations, especially after it failed to assist him during his time in prison in Dubai.
He has continued to raise concerns about the federation and demanded accountability in a recent interview, stating that UNMF should work for the good of the entire industry, not just a select few.
"We are not going to cover up for UNMF; we need results. There are ample opportunities for musicians to make money, but our efforts are not paying off as they should be according to our contributions. Criticism is necessary to address personal issues," Gunter expressed in an interview with a local television station.
Gunter believes the federation should focus on benefiting the entire industry rather than just a few members.
