Musician Catherine Kusasira announced that she will be contesting for the Woman Member of Parliament seat for Buikwe District.
Kusasira revealed that she will be running on the NRM ticket and is ready to bring fundamental change to the district.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Kusasira explained that she wants to effectively represent the residents of Buikwe. She emphasized that she is not targeting money in politics.
"I want to represent my people and bring their issues to the forefront. I am not targeting money as some people say because I already have enough for myself," she said in part.
Kusasira will face stiff competition in the upcoming election from the incumbent, Diana Nankunda Mutasingwa, who is currently the Minister of State in the Office of the Vice President of Uganda.
