Over the weekend, music critic Eddie Sendie criticized Pia Pounds, calling her a poor performer and advising her to invest in vocal training and rehearsals instead of focusing on her appearance.

"Pia Pounds, you are a terrible performer. You invest a lot of money in your appearance, but my sincere advice is to undergo voice training and rehearse more," he said in a YouTube interview, criticizing her performance at Sheebah’s concert.

Pia Pounds responded on X (formerly Twitter), explaining that Sendie should understand there could be other reasons for her poor performance, beyond a lack of talent.

Pia Pounds also expressed that Sendie's comments hurt her, but she would take them as constructive criticism and work towards becoming a better artist.

"Mzee Sendie, your comment about 'Nyimba bubi' hurt me a lot, but I’ll take it as constructive criticism and work on growing as an artist. It’s important to note that many factors can cause an artist to sound bad on stage besides a lack of talent," she wrote on X.
