Dokta Brain, a highly respected and award-winning songwriter in Uganda, has made a surprising announcement: he's stepping back from being considered for songwriting awards. After years of recognition and accolades, he feels it's time to let other talented writers shine.

He explained that there are so many talented songwriters in Uganda, and he believes that seeing others win awards will encourage even more people to pursue their passion for writing songs.

"I excused myself from the songwriters' category in awards," he shared in a recent TV interview. "I want other people to win because we have very many talented songwriters who deserve to be awarded for the growth of the industry."

Dokta Brain believes that recognizing and appreciating talent is key to the continued growth and development of the Ugandan music industry. He's essentially passing the torch to the next generation of songwriters.
