The city of Nairobi, Kenya is currently buzzing in anticipation of the arrival of Grammy award winning American music engineer, Gimel Keaton better known as Young Guru.
The highly rated DJ will be hosted at the Nairobi Rapsody on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Ebony Lounge, Westlands in the capital of the East African country. Popularly touted as ‘The Sound of New York’, Young Guru is set to thrill guests at Nairobi Rapsody alongside Kenya’s very own DJs: Mixmaster Lenny and Final Kut with an opening performance by Oskyde. Just so you know, Young Guru is Jay-Z’s official tour DJ and has mixed 10 of the rapper’s 11 albums.
With Young Guru’s set, Kenyan hip hop lovers are in for musical journey they will remember for a long time spanning diverse genres including early Hip hop, Rock n Roll, Electro and others. He is notably recognised for shaping some of the biggest talents in hip hop today including Kanye West.
