Bobby Brown has broken his silence following the death of his 22-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown on Sunday night.

The singer's lawyers released a statement to People magazine on Monday.

"Krissy was and is an angel. I am completely numb at this time. My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honor her memory," he said. "Our loss is unimaginable. We thank everyone for the prayers for Krissy and our family as we mourn my baby girl."

Bobbi Kristina died on July 26 while in an Atlanta hospice, nearly six months after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her home in Roswell, Georgia on Jan. 31.

On Monday, the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office announced that an autopsy would be performed to determine Brown's cause of death, though they expect the amount of time that has passed since she was found unresponsive will likely "complicate" efforts to reconstruct events.

"Interpretation of autopsy findings and other information will also be challenging," the medical examiner's office said in a statement. "However, an autopsy could be helpful to address questions which may arise about the cause of her unresponsiveness and eventual death."

The Roswell Police Department also announced they are continuing their investigation into Brown's death.
