Bebe Cool has been to Serena Hotel for his music concerts two times, but his fans still can’t seem to get enough of the King of Jungle. The Love you everyday star is a man of a lot words, but every statement he makes seems to always be followed by a round of frenzied screaming.

We can tell you — Bebe Cool promised to take Ugandan music to the next level and that is what he actually portrayed at his ‘Friends Of Bebe Cool’ concert at Kampala Serena Hotel on Friday night.

To start with, Gagamel boss introduced a new ticketing system, with cards named ‘the Gagamel cards’. So that means no fraud and no confusion with long queues like what happens to many concerts around Kampala. More to that, the cards are very easy to use. And the concert, it perfectly worked right.

Next, the organization. The lighting done by Fenon events was out of this world. Good preparation and I bet revelers really had a good time on this concert.

Meanwhile, Bebe Cool got onto stage at around 8.20pm as the show had been planned, and he started to do what he does best – fantastic performance till shortly after midnight climaxing the great show with his bestselling hit Love You Everyday.

Ever the crowd pleaser, the man always had something extra up his sleeve. This was the VIP section, guests were treated to a cocktail before the concert and an extra package which includes a CD of the Best of Bebe Cool plus a collection of drinks and eats.

In the full house, 50 VVIP and VIP tables that cost Shs5m and Shs2m respectively were all sold out and recognized names like tycoons Dr Sudhir Ruparelia, Sir Gordon Wavamunno, who Bebe Cool credited for having bankrolled his first album, Godfrey Kirumira, Ham Kiggundu and his brother Haruna were present. The other tables were occupied by sponsors like Pepsi, MTN, SMS One, KFM, Sqoop and Media 24, Kibo Media, Fenon records plus musician friends.

Some of the highlights included a collabo with guitar maestro, Micheal Ouma, an energetic performance of Kamongolo with Annet Nandujjbesa and the introduction of a young girl from Congo who blew the crowd away with her powerful vocals. But the best of all was his eight-year-old daughter Beata coming onto stage to play the piano and her classical pieces received a standing ovation that made the proud father radiated with an ear to ear smile.

All in all, the concert was a success. Congratulations Bebe Cool.
