Friends of Kadongo kamu singer Mamuli Katumba have organized a charity walk to raise money for his treatment.
Dubbed “Save Mamuli Katumba Charity Walk”, participants will pay between Shs20,000 and Shs50,000.
The “ Bwesibwesi” singer has been bedridden for months with parts of his body paralyzed. His worrying condition came to light when he collapsed in Kibuye Market where he had gone to buy fruits.
The save Mamuli Katumba fundraising drive will see his friends walk from the National Theatre in Kampala to Ggaba Beach in an effort to call on well wishers to raise money to save the 'kadongokamu' singer's deteriorating health.
The veteran ‘Kadongokamu’ singer collapsed in April this year, was unconscious for hours and was rushed to Mulago Hospital for medical attention.
He has not yet fully recovered and sources say he needs a lot of money to carry out several operations. He suffers from multiple organ failure caused by diabetes.
According to the organizers of the fundraising drive, politicians, business community, fellow artistes and well-wishers will take part in the fundraising walk where tickets will range between sh10,000 to sh50,000.
