Musician Vinka has left many of her fans surprised after revealing she doesn't own the songs she recorded.

Vinka explained all the songs are owned by her bosses at Swangz Avenue. She doesn't have copyright to them.

Vinka said, however, she can buy the songs from Swangz Avenue bosses if she wants to continue earning from them after quitting the label.

"Swangz Avenue owns my music. When I leave the label, I’ll have to buy the music. However, that can happen when you leave on good terms because they can refuse to sell them to you if you are not at peace. It's not only here in Uganda but that's how labels operate across the world," she partly said in an interview with a local television.

Vinka was sharing her views on the struggles between Kataleya and Kandle and their former management, who stopped the duo from performing songs they recorded under Thrones Music Uganda.
