Musician Spice Diana was among the pioneer members of the Uganda National Musicians Federation and was entrusted with a leadership role during its launch in May 2023.

The regular hitmaker, however, did not stay long and eventually quit.

She has now opened up about her reason for leaving, stating that the federation lost its focus and failed to actualize the passing of the copyright law.

"I left when I saw that it is not really about focusing on the main issue, which is fighting for the copyright law, or something long-term. Personally, what I thought was the right thing to do was to fight for something that would last, so that even when I was not doing music anymore, I would still earn from it. Or support my younger ones with the hope that they would earn something, but we are just divided," Spice Diana said.

Spice Diana, however, wishes the UNMF well if they can return to the real goal of fighting for copyright law.
