Musician Maro has made a significant contribution to Ugandan music, helping the careers of artists like Nutty Neithan, Zulitums, and others.

Speaking about Ugandan music breaking barriers and hitting globally, Maro believes Ugandan artists must make music in different languages.

He explained the need to mix Luganda and English or other foreign languages to appeal to a broader audience and help them understand Ugandan music.

"We have to make music in different international languages while maintaining our identity. Music that can be played everywhere. Personally, I’ve had audiences abroad, but I didn't have the right music for them. They don't understand Luganda, so we need to mix it with English, Swahili, and other languages," he said in part.

Maro believes Diamond Platnumz’s international breakthrough is partly due to his use of Kiswahili.
