Andrew Jjengo, the lead pastor of the Revival Church in Kawaala, has shared the reason behind his bitter split with Maggie Kayima, also known as Nabbi Omukazi, who was previously romantically involved with the late Pastor Yiga.
In an interview with a local television station, Andrew Jjengo revealed that Nabbi Omukazi attempted to defraud his followers, which he strongly opposed.
He explained that Nabbi Omukazi, along with Pastor Siraje Semanda, suggested they should rally the congregation to meet with the President and request kickbacks, a move he denounced, leading to their fallout.
“They were targeting my church congregation, intending to confuse them and demand kickbacks. My people are not wealthy; they are low-income earners. For them to raise the demanded money, they would have to sell everything they own. I could not stand a life of defrauding people, as I have never done that in my life,” he noted.
It should be noted that Nabbi Omukazi and Pastor Siraje were arrested by security operatives for allegedly defrauding followers of over UGX 4.5 billion between 2017 and 2019, claiming their organization would offer State House scholarships, among other things.
Nabbi Omukazi was arrested in 2020, remanded to prison, and released in March 2021. She later relocated to the USA, where she currently resides.
