Abba Marcus, the eldest son of legendary musician Jose Chameleone, has vowed to revolutionize Ugandan music.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, Abba expressed his determination to redefine Ugandan music by embracing its cultural heritage. He highlighted his concern over the lack of a distinct identity in Ugandan music, which he finds deeply upsetting.

“I’m tired of Ugandan music not having a distinct identity… let’s go back to the roots,” he wrote.

Abba Marcus, who currently resides in America, announced over the weekend that he is collaborating with his father. The two are working together in the studio to create something special for Ugandan music fans.

The singer, who began his career in Kampala over a decade ago, remains committed to making a significant impact in the competitive music industry.

Currently focused on Hip Hop music in America, Abba receives both musical and financial support from his father, the Leone Island boss.

Many see Abba Marcus as the new torchbearer of the Mayanja family legacy, with the potential to fill the shoes of his father, Jose Chameleone, and uncles Weasel and Pallaso, who have all made major contributions to the Ugandan music scene.

Abba has also made headlines for calling out his father and uncle Weasel over their struggles with alcoholism, showcasing his desire for a more disciplined and forward-thinking approach to music and life.
