Musician Ragga Dee has announced a concert, marking 15 years since he last staged a major celebration of his music.

The legendary artist’s concert is scheduled to take place on the 25th of this month at Serena Hotel in Kampala.

Explaining the long hiatus, Ragga Dee revealed that his focus on advocating for the copyright law has been a key reason for not staging a concert. He said he dedicated his energy to the fight for copyright reform instead of pursuing other ventures.

"One of the reasons I haven’t done a show in 15 years is because we’ve been singing for free. In the past, we sold albums at high prices and earned money. I chose to focus on pushing for the copyright law so artists can benefit from their creations," he explained.

Ragga Dee expressed gratitude to the government for its recent progress in amending the copyright law.

"It seems the law will finally be amended this year. The cabinet has already assented to it," he added.
