The executive Director National Environment Authority NEMA, Tom O Okrut has ordered all encroachers out of Lubigi Wetland warning that whoever is caught in the wetland will be taken to court.
During a press conference this afternoon, Okrut said the encroachers took advantage of the election season to burn and occupy the wetland.
He explains that More than 200 acres of Lubigi wetland has been totally destroyed and all must vacate immediately for restoration to begin.
The News comes barely a day after the High Court ordered a ban on polythene bags (Kaveera) on Thursday.
In today’s presser Mr. Okrut called upon everybody to stop the manufacture, sale, use and distribution of Kaveera to save the environment. “We call upon everybody to stop the manufacture, sale, use and distribution of Kaveera to save our environment.
