President Yoweri Museveni has received the South Korean Ambassador to Uganda, Mr. Park-Jong Dae who paid him a courtesy visit at State House, Entebbe yesterday.

During meeting, H.E Museveni and the envoy discussed pertinent issues pertaining to the two countries especially the forthcoming visit to Uganda later this month by the South Korean President, Ms. Park Geun-Hye.

She will be the first South Korean President to visit Uganda during her African tour that will also see her visit Ethiopia and Kenya.

Mr. Park-Jong told President Museveni that the visit of the South Korean President will mainly focus on the areas of agriculture, medical, ICT and the private sector that characterize the close relationship between South Korea and Uganda.

The Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI) and South Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SKCCI), recently signed a memorandum of understanding in Kampala that is aimed at unlocking investment opportunities in the two countries.

South Korea is presently supporting the agriculture, health and education in Uganda.

A South Korean coffee company, Caffebene, a global coffee house, has agreed to buy graded coffee from members of the National Union of Coffee Agribusinesses and Farm Enterprises (NUCAFE), an umbrella organization that promotes value addition and teamwork among coffee farmers.
