Uganda peoples’ defence force, (UPDF) has suspended one of its senior officers Col. Felix Kulaigye due to his involvement in a bad gold deal.
Kulaigye was last evening suspended from office of Chief Political Commissar as per the military spokesperson Lt. Col. Paddy Ankunda.
Ankunda revealed on his twitter handle that he had received incessant calls about the fate of Hon Col Felix Kulayigye.
“Truth is Hon Col Felix Kulayigye has been suspended from office of Chief Political Commissar pending further inquiries about his conduct in the issue of gold business” Ankunda said.
He however explains that Col. Kulaigye will keep his seat in Parliament where he is one of the officers representing the army.
“However Col Kulayigye remains in parliament as UPDF representative despite the suspension” Ankunda added.
Col. Kulaigye’s problems stem from a gold deal scandal involving his alleged niece, Ms Brenda Murungi who claims she was conned and robbed of her gold that she had taken for testing at Matrich Holdings Limited, a private company.
