Angelina Osege, Soroti Woman Member of parliament has been rushed to hospital after collapsing in parliament. Osega collapsed in the chambers of parliament after being assaulted by a Plain clothed Security officer.
Sources at Parliament indicate that the security officer attacked Osege when she tried to intervene and stop him from roughing up, another member of parliament.
Chris Obore, the Director Communication in Parliament, Abdu Katuntu, the Bugweri County MP and Nakaseke MP Ssemakula Lutamaguzi rushed the legislator to the hospital.
Parliament degenerated into chaos after the speaker; Rebecca Kadaga suspended 24 legislators and the State Water Minister, Ronald Kibuuka for the next three sittings and ordered them to vacate the house in vain.
Members were seen hurling insults and trading punches at each other. Trouble for the legislators started on Tuesday night when they stirred chaos in parliament to block Raphael Magyezi, a member of the ruling National Resistance Movement-NRM party from presenting a motion pushing for the removal of the presidential age limit from the constitution of Uganda.
Kibuule was suspended for carrying a gun into parliament in breach of the house of rules. The suspended legislators include Allan Sewanyana, Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi, Nathan Nandala Mafabi, Betty Nambooze, Mohammad Nsereko, Mubarak Munyagwa, Dr Sam Lyomoki, Barnabas Tinkasimire, Francis Zaake, Gilbert Olanya, Ojur Jonathan, Moses Kasibante, Ibrahim Kasozi, Angelline Osegge and William Nzoghu.
Others are Muwanga Kivumbi, Wilfred Niwagaba, Joseph Sewungu, Mbwatekamwa Gaffa and John Baptist Nambetsye.
