Residents of Nanyele village in Busiriwa parish Bukulecheke Sub County in Bududa district are in panic after one of their own, a 65 year old Topista Seera was mutilated by an unknown assailant.
Seera who is recovering at Bududa hospital lost all her private parts when an unidentified man attacked her on Monday night on her way to a neighboring village of Nabutsiba Village in Bumwalukani parish, Bulecheke sub county. She was saved by neighbors who heard her screaming during the attack.
According to Sarah, the unknown man grabbed her from behind, put her on ground, picked a sharp knife and started cutting off her private parts. She was rushed to the hospital by the good Samaritans who scared away the man whose intentions remain unknown.
Bududa District Police Commander Esther Adeke says the force has started investigations into the matter. She urged residents to be security cautious especially when moving in the night.
“We thank God she survived. We are calling upon all resid3ents to remain vigilant as crimes are increasing from kidnaps to murder. Even adults need to be cautious who they move out with. The victim is in the hospital recovering steadily” she said.
