Police in Katwe has in its coolers two people arrested in connection with the alleged fraud by multi level marketing company Adsan Enterprises.
The development follows complaints from over 38 people who reported cases to police alleging that the company had taken their money from after assuring them of returns, which failed to materialise.
Victims allege that Adsan Enterprises started operating as a company that deals in supplying chicks to poultry farmers at a subsidised price with a solemn promise of ready market when the have grown.
However, the company Directors duped clients into believing they had won some contracts into supplying dry food ratio and chicken to some NGOs like United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and World Food Program (WFP) hence a ready and available market.
One of the suspects told police in his statement, that the first months of doing business, things were a bit successful until the numbers of clients grew beyond the unexpected hence money was channeled into different ventures like crypto currency, leaving their clients frustrated.
Located at Muganzaliwaza building SE6 in Kampala, it is believed that the company has cheated people to the tune of Ushs 812 million leading to its consequent closure.
Police identified the prime accused suspects as Simon Musinguzi along with Daniel Kalyango. The duo is currently detained at Katwe Police Station pending court on obtaining money by false pretense charges.
