Uganda police force has released names of victims of the Kapchorwa bus accident which killed 21 people.
19 people died on spot, while two more people breathed their last at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital this morning where they had been admitted in critical condition.
The duo is yet to be identified. They were part of 38 people who were traveling aboard a bus belonging to Kiryandongo technical institute registration number UG 2833E.
Police identified the other victims as; Gloria Muheirwe Barungi, Noreen Jelibalibatya, Robert Bills Okello, Rita Bukirwa, Jamil Rajab, Monday Boniface, and a one Justus.
Others are; Ruth Kawadin, Gloria Owet, Nelson Agatu, Silvia Acheng, Okello Oliver, Jacob Kintu, Bernard Kyambadde, Acheng Linda, Francis Rwothomio, Farouk and John. Three victims remain unidentified.
According to Sipi regional police spokesperson Rogers Taitika, the victims were staff of National league of USA, an NGO based in Kiryandongo and Masindi districts.
The bus is alleged to have lost control while descending Tewei hill in Sippi Town council in Kapchorwa along Kapchorwa-Sironko road last evening and overturned three times killing 19 people on spot.
Taitika said that 17 other accident victims were in danger and had been rushed to health facilities. Four of these were transferred to Kampala for better management.
Two tour guides identified as Jamil Rajab and Monday Boniface are among the dead.
The deceased according to police, had been in Mbale for their end of year party but decided to go for a tour at Sipi falls in Kapchorwa district.
