Police are searching for suspected thugs who last night broke into the Wakiso district headquarters and stole property and documents from the water department.
Isaac Galabuzi the District Water Engineer told Howwe.Biz this morning that the thugs accessed the offices through the ceiling and made away with computers, a scanner and many documents.
He tells us that they were all surprised this morning when staff opened up the offices and found all the documents scattered on the floor.
According to Galabuzi, this is the second time in a space of two months thugs have broken into the water offices.
Luke Lokuda the Wakiso District Chief Administrative Officer wonders how thugs accessed the headquarters considering there are security guards. He promises that the district will increase presence of security at the headquarters and also install CCTV cameras.
“We are making efforts to increase on security at the headquarters and then most importantly we are going to install CCTV cameras. Financial 2019/2020 we are going to purchased CCTV camera to determine and know exactly which people are coming in and getting out.
He also reveals that they are holding two police officers who were guarding the headquarters.
