The body of the Director of Rwamabondo town school in Rwamabondo town council in Ntungamo Obadiah Magara, has been found with a small bottle containing poison next to his body.
Police are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of Magara, a resident of Kamuganga Cell in Kabaruko ward in Rwamabondo town council who was last seen on Wednesday night by his family.
The deceased could not be traced until Thursday when he was found lying dead. Police says it was later found out that the poison bottle could have been placed at the scene by someone who had a hand in his death.
According to the post-mortem carried out at Kitagata ward, the deceased died as a result of strangulation.
One of the deceased’s friend identified as James Ayebare, says that Magara was last seen buying a solar set which he took home and hired an electrician to install. According to Ayebare, the deceased says later ate supper with the family members before leaving for prayer.
Damiano Katwesiime Ntungamo District Police Commander says that the matter is being investigated adding that police officers from Ntungamo are teaming up with their counterparts in Kitagata town council to track down the suspects. No suspect has been arrested in connection with the death.
