Tomorrow on the 9th June 2020 Uganda will celebrate the 31st Heroes Day, honoring the countrymen and women that have selflessly contributed to their country’s liberation and development.
Unlike the previous ones, this year’s anniversary will be held in a “scientific” way without any public gathering across the country observing the COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures.
H.E President Yoweri Museveni will be chief guest, commemorating the day from State House Entebbe with only 30 guests that will represent the rest of Ugandans.
The theme for this year’s celebrations is, “Celebrating a memorable day as we reflect on the selflessness of the heroes/heroines who put Nation above all else".
Hon. Esther Mbayo the Minister for Presidency says that the President will address the country beginning at 9:00 am.
“Ugandans are therefore urged to celebrate this historical day from their homes and observe safety in this COVID-19 period. Wishing a merry celebrations” she said.
