Following the re-opening of Entebbe International Airport for business, management has allowed only 50 of the 240 registered airport taxis to operate each day in the first phase.

According to Jackson Sserubidde, the Chairman Airport Taxi Services Cooperative Society Ltd, the first phase covers October to December 2020, while the second phase ends June 2021.

This is aimed at regulating the number of taxis in a bid to de-congest the parking lot and other areas of the airport to reduce the spread of Covid19. 

Sserubidde says before the Airport re-opened for business on October 1st, they were briefed on the Standard Operating Procedures.

The Works Ministry and Civil Aviation Authority-UCAA together with the taxi operators they launched an Airport Taxi App to stop drivers from fighting for passengers at the entrance terminal.  

The app also provides has a price list to various destinations.
