Police in Bududa district are investigating circumstances under which a 49-year-Old taxi driver was found dead.
The deceased has been identified as David Wambwa, a resident of Bushinyekwa lower cell, Nashula ward Bududa town council in Bududa district.
Wambwa’s lifeless body was found lying in a nearby bush on Tuesday afternoon with a machete in the hands shortly after going to cut grass for his animals. He was first spotted by a passerby who was on his way to his business.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the deceased’s body had marks on the neck and cuts on the hand, an indication that he was killed. According to James Wanasolo, the LC I Chairperson Bushinyekwa lower cell, the incident has left residents in shock since the deceased has been a good man in their community with no known enemies.
The Bududa District Police Commander Hilary Nuwahereza, described the incident as unfortunate, adding that they had picked up some suspects to aid their investigations.
At least 4 other people have been lost in a similar manner within a space of two months in the same area, which raises concern.
