A senior Health Educator and his colleague in Bukedea District have been interdicted for professional misconduct. 

Ben Okou, was arrested for alleged misuse of covid-19 funds meant to pay allowances for the frontline health workers, village health teams (VHTs) and other district health officials fighting the pandemic.

He was entrusted with the money to pay the VHTs in Kachumbala County and each was to get 150,000 Shillings however, he only paid 100,000 Shillings.

His colleague David Isaac Emuron, the district store manager was also arrested over the mysterious disappearance of 1,648 hoes worth 18 Million Shillings. The missing hoes were supposed to be supplied to Aligoi sub-county.

Geoffrey Okiswa the Resident District Commissioner of Bukedea said that Emuron was arrested because of professional negligence and laziness. The duo appeared in court last week and was charged with theft.

According to Maira Joseph Mukasa the Chief Administrative Officer Bukedea, the interdiction of the two officers has been done per the law.
