Makerere University (MUK) is getting ready to celebrate a huge achievement next week: its 75th graduation ceremony! Over five days, from Monday to Friday, a whopping 13,658 students will be graduating, marking the culmination of years of hard work.

It's a particularly special moment for these students as they finally get to celebrate their academic success across many different fields of study.

This year's graduating class is also noteworthy for its near gender parity: 7,297 of the graduates are women (53%), and 6,361 are men (47%), showing a real commitment to equal opportunities in education.

Professor Mukadasi Buyinza, the University's Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, shared some more details: the vast majority of graduates – 11,463 – will be receiving their bachelor's degrees. There are also 1,813 students earning master's degrees, 243 receiving postgraduate diplomas, and even 8 students achieving undergraduate diplomas. It's a fantastic achievement for everyone involved.
